• William the mariner – is finished!

Just a little tweaking of the strings/controller, but I’m practically done, and with a week before my deadline, so have a few days to get to know and see what he can do, and perhaps even give him a more personal name, if you have a suggestion for a Victorian era sea farer then drop…

  • Master Fresh

The puppet is evolving from a marionette to a table-top design for practicality and enhanced performance during video rapping and movement. Fresh’s lower half is being redesigned for more human-like mobility, despite the challenges of adapting the original design. Flexibility and learning through trial and error are key priorities in the puppet’s development.

  • The Mariner

He is progressing steadily, the marionette control system is about ready, trousers done, need to reattach his feet and make a jumper, hat and any other bits and bobs. I need to finish him a few days before the 1st of June, just so I have a few days to mess about and move him…

  • The Mariner

A 16-inch marionette representing a 1800s fisherman will be featured at the RNLI Barry lifeboat – Festival of the Sea on June 1st and 2nd. The puppet symbolizes the original lifesavers who risked their lives to rescue those in danger at sea off the British coast.

  • Smooth and Fresh

Bit by bit, I’m leaning into using power tools, next up is an electric sander, which made Master Fresh nice and smooth, need to do a finer grade sandpaper for the next pass.
